These are used to get a flat surface on the top of your cake instead of the hump. Works terrifically. Use these belts wet. Soak until completely wet. Squish out the excess water and wrap around the outside of your pan filled with batter. Place this into the oven, lower your temperature to 325 F and bake until a cake tester or toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
